Eternal Infinite Finites
I am enveloped in a sea of darkness.
Waves gracefully swell and drag, bobbing my rootless body.
The moon and stars stare emotionlessly down upon me,
Yet acknowledge my presence.
Wading through the water, I grow cold and stiff.
The ocean is very persuasive.
Each loll of the waves cradles me further into a hypnotic daze.
Through my tired gaze I witness a shooting star fall out of the sky.
I too have fallen out of my universe, into this ocean of nothingness.
Somehow I feel at home.
I fit in with the rhythm of the water around me,
I belong in nature.
The ocean beckons me deeper and I obey,
Sinking below the silky water.

Quan sat in his chair and pulled out a pen he recently acquired during his janitorial rounds. It was nice to get off his feet as he had been cleaning for quite some time. He looked around, seeing if anyone was present. Satisfied with the break room's emptiness, he kicked his feet up on the table, and leaned back. He began to scribble little doodles from the pen while balancing the steel chair on its two hind legs. It may not have been as comfortable as his multi-massage "ComfyCouch" the doctor recently prescribed for him, but leaning did bring comfortable memories of his wife before their divorce.
